Give + Take

A Modern Robin Hood Tale

Incunable Productions is proud to announce that we’ve commissioned the writing team of David Posamentier and Geoff Moore for the screenplay adaptation of the novel Give + Take, by Stona Fitch – our debut option. Posamentier and Moore wrote and directed the 2014 film Better Living Through Chemistry and are currently developing Food Fight and a remake of the 1985 film Explorers, both for Paramount. Says the scribe team, “We’re very excited to be adapting Fitch’s comic novel, a clever tale that incorporates jazz, crime and romance. Barbara and Matt have a unique perspective on the movie business and we’re looking forward to our partnership.”

Give + Take is a modern-day Robin Hood tale with a musical twist. Originally published by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press in 2010, this edgy comedy tells the story of Ross Clifton, a traveling jazz pianist who puts his deft fingers to use afterhours, stealing millions in diamonds and BMWs – then giving it all away. A gifted grifter, Clifton thrives on the road until he’s lured into new, dangerous territory.

Give + Take has appeared in many foreign editions, from the UK to Greece to Taiwan. Fitch’s previous novel Senseless was adapted into a UK feature film by director Simon Hynd and Shoreline Entertainment. And his latest novel, Third Rail (under his pen name Rory Flynn) has been optioned by Universal Television.
